The world is currently facing two significant crises of the COVID-19 pandemic and a climate crisis. In response to these crises, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is moving forward with a “Sustainable Recovery ” initiative that aims to restore a sustainable way of life for people, in addition to measures to deal with climate change. To accelerate feasible actions for decarbonization and call for “TIME TO ACT” as our watchword, we are going to hold an online kick-off meeting of the “TIME TO ACT”, a worldwide movement to speed up climate action from Tokyo.
The kick-off meeting will feature a range of keynote lectures where leaders of big cities and experts who have been taking initiative to cope with climate change issues will be invited to assist us in presenting their respective thoughts on “accelerating action” to achieve world's decarbonization from the viewpoint of sustainable recovery.
